There's no poetry between us,
Said the paper to the pen.
No one will believe us
And the ink is wearing thin.

I'd like to say I'll miss you,
But your presence has grown dull.
One last time I'd kiss you,
But your smile's lost its pull.

But I remember the love songs, we lived them.
The music was loud yet kind.
I remember the stars, we kissed them.
All that I wanted was mine.

But the music has long since faded,
And the sky took back the stars.
We took all we could and waited
Until nothing was ours.

Well they would all believe us
If only my heart you could win.
But theres no poetry between us,
Said the paper to the pen.
